The Aiguille du Midi (3,842 m) is a mountain in the Mont Blanc massif in the French Alps.
The name "Aiguille du Midi" translates literally as "Needle of the Middle." In French culture, the word "Midi," is used loosely used to represent midday Noon. It gets its name from its tapered form and from its position when viewed from Chamonix: it approximately indicates noon when the sun passes over its summit.

I've got this cute bookmark from my friend - it was bought during her trip through the French Alps :) Thank you very much, Jurate :)
